3aEDJ Industries, Inc.

While in the SBA’s 8(a) program, my advisor Wayne Sanford assigned Nikki to set up a computer accounting systems for my business EDJ Industries Inc.  I had a contract with the Seattle-King County Convention and Visitor’s Bureau to bring in minority conventions which would contract with local minority businesses for events.  The 8(a) program required quarterly and annual financial reports.  I hired Nikki to continue helping me with my accounting.  She prepared financials, reconciled accounts, prepared tax returns and encouraged financial and retirement planning.  She helped me close my business when I decided to retire and still continues to prepare my tax returns, discuss retirement issues, and I’ve even asked her to be the Executor of my will.

I have worked with Nikki for seven years.  She set up and trained me to use Quickbooks for two entities for which I am the treasurer.  I enjoy working with her because she is not only knowledgeable but also extremely efficient.  The Finance Committee at my church has been very pleased with the audits she has conducted during the past eight years.  The church and I look forward to continuing our successful relationship with Nikki.

Nikki became our CFO/Financial Manager after she had set up our accounting system on a work order from the SBA 8(a) program.  She came weekly and prepared all of our billings, certified payrolls, and any line of credit documents.  She transitioned us from a sole proprietorship to a corporation in order to protect us individually.  She prepared our bids for contracts and prepared all financials required by the 8(a) program. When my late husband was working on clearing land for the 3rd runway at Seatac, he was injured and later died of a pulmonary embolism.  Nikki consulted with us on our alternatives and then helped us dissolve assets, negotiate with healthcare and government agencies, and transition without the aid of any will.  To this day, Nikki still prepares my tax returns and consults with me regarding my recent retirement.  Recently she even helped my youngest son as he considers starting out in his father’s footsteps by starting a heavy construction business.
